2019 was a dark spot on what has been an incredibly successful New Providence Reds history. For the first time in our NJABL History (2013), The Reds failed to reach the playoffs and finished below .500 with a record of 5-13.
The Reds struggled with consistency after loosing some key players from the year before. Catcher Will Anderson was no longer with the club and Tom Pavero, the only 3B the Reds have ever known, moved to Chicago for work. Tom will go down as one of the best players to ever don the Red and Black in New Providence.

Short Stop Matt Nesto #15 and Pitcher Scott Horowitz #12 proudly represented the Reds at the Mid Summer Classic at TD Bank Ballpark, home of the Somerset Patriots. Joe Randazzo led the Reds with 16 hits, while Scott (2) and Ariel Melendez (1) each cleared the fences at Oakwood.

A big bright-spot from a team perspective was the Reds 12-4 victory in Garfield on Sunday, June 9. This win was the Reds 100th since joining the NJABL in 2013 (including playoffs). Scott got the W on the mound, Tyler DeGeorge knocked in 3 runs.

2020 The Reds will look to bounce back, add some new names to the roster, and return to playoff baseball.
