Reds Shut Out Rays and Win Championship Behind Sommo
BRANCHBURG, NJ - The Whitehouse Reds won their second championship with a 12-0 win over the Rays on Saturday afternoon.
Nick Sommo pitched a complete game 5 hittier striking out 8. Sommo pitched 13 scoreless innings in the championship series.
Shortstop John Curreri had a 2 run triple to open the scoring for the Reds which would be all the Reds would need and added a two run double in the 7th. John Puttress added 4 hits and 3 RBI's as well.
Centerfielder and leadoff cataylst for the Reds all summer Carlo Romano had 2 hits, walked, stole a base and scored 2 runs for the Reds.
This is the 2nd Tommie Agee League Championship for the Reds and their 1st since 2004.
This season was a total team effort for the Reds and I would like to thank the team for their hard work, effort and the ability to battle back after a tough start to the season. I would also like to thank all the fans for their support.
