3 Reds selected to 2017 NJABL All Star Game
NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The Reds are pleased to announce that 3 members have been selected to the 2017 NJABL All Star Game. The game will be played at TD Bank Ballpark (800 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807) on Saturday, June 10th with first pitch at 1pm. Representing the Reds in this years Mid-Summer Classic will be RHP Scott Horowitz, RF Ariel Melendez and 3B Tom Pavero.
Scott & Ariel were voted in by the league, while Tom was voted in by his teammates. All three look to see action as they join fellow members of the North Intermediate league while they take on the All Stars of the South Intermediate League.
The Reds enter the All Star break with a 5-4 record, good for 2nd place in the North West division of the North Intermediate League. 3 of the 4 Reds losses this spring have come via walk-off fashion, and they are currently outscoring opponents 48-36.
The second half of the season will get underway on Sunday when the Reds take on the Jersey City Vipers with a 9-inning contest in New Providence starting at 4pm. The later start time is due the Reds involvement in the 2017 Bikers for Brooke charity event which raises money and awareness for The Brooke Healey Foundation - Pediatric Cancer and the memory of Brooke Healey.
