2017 NJABL Postseason
NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The regular season has concluded and the New Providence Reds have finished up .500 with a 9-9 record. The Reds enter the postseason as the #5 seed and their title defense begins with a trip to Metro Field (Jersey City) where they take on the #4 seed Jersey Rays.
The 2017 season was an unusual one for the boys from New Providence as it was their first time failing to finish over .500 in the regular season. Of the 9 losses they were tagged with, 8 of them were by 2 runs or fewer (including being walked off on three times).
The Reds dropped both meetings to the Rays; 3-5 on Opening Day (walk off) and 1-3 on June 18. They look to continue the postseason magic from 2016 which saw them go 5-0 en route to their 3rd NJABL Championship in 4 years.
The game was rained out on Sunday (7/23) and is set to start at 7:15pm on Wednesday (7/26) and will take place at Metro Field in Jersey City (179 West Side Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07305)
